About Me

Welcome!  I’m so happy you’re here!

My name is Callie.

I’m a writer, photographer, sketch artist, food enthusiast, nervous coffee drinker, book lover, and a recovering tv addict.  I talk too much, love people, and am really unhelpful in the case of an emergency.

This man ^ has been my best friend from the time that I was 12. He also happens to be my husband. We’ve been married for 10 years, and together we have ‘our hands full’ of these 4 really awesome munchkins.

By day I am a mother of 4. I leap tall (lego) buildings in a single bound, I fix boo boo’s with my magical mommy kisses, and I single-handedly wrangle these wilde tiny people with no more than a hopeful prayer and a BIG dose of grace.

By night, I am a wife. I am a girl who married her best friend, who struggles to be selfless, who longs to be more like Jesus. I am a friend to more wonderful women than I can count, and I’m learning that I’ll always be learning.

So far I have learned that this journey is hard. There are tall mountains and deep valleys, sharp rocks and swift rivers, but there are also quiet waters and green pastures. And the dangerous perils of this life only sweeten those precious moments of peace.

Pull up a chair and have a cup of coffee with me?

I love to meet new people and to make new friends. I love hearing your stories and your thoughts! So shoot me a message or leave a comment. I promise it will make my day!

  1. Hi Callie,

You’re so happy we’re here….and we’re so happy you’re here. At least I am, because I really need to hear what you have to say!

A little background information…..I have known Bo and Mary Jane Morgan for YEARS, though I haven’t had the chance to be around them for quite some time. I met them when I joined Woodland Presbyterian Church here in Hattiesburg back in about 1982. Well, actually that’s when I met Mary Jane. I’ve known Bo for a lot longer, since he grew up in the ‘burg. I was classmates with his sister, Carrie.

When I was a member of Woodland, I taught Sunday School – 3-year-olds – for 6 years. PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILDREN. Joel was in my class the first year I taught. Then Brandon came along. He called me Mrs. Stanwee (my last name at the time was Stanley). I loved it. I loved him….along with all the other
wild little Indians!! That was a long time ago, and my senior mind won’t let me remember any particulars to fill you in on about Brandon as a 3-year-old in Sunday School…but there are no BAD memories:-))

I just want to tell you that you are such an encourager and a total delight! Perhaps we will meet some day and I’ll give you a big hug!! Please keep being honest about your feelings (not that I feel you could be any other way) and keep playing the piano and the guitar and singing and writing and taking pictures…and going junk-shopping whenever you can! And keep loving Brandon and those adorable little ones of yours! You are a treasure!!!

    • What a precious note to come home and find! Your kind words mean so much to this insecure heart. I am so glad you stopped by to say hello, and please come back again! And, I don’t mind admitting that the thought of my hubby as a little boy in Sunday school puts a lump in my throat. I’m betting he was pretty cute. :) Blessings to you!
