Yucky Hearts
December 6, 2012 in Little People
This is a conversation between me and my middle child, Noah.
I’m in love with him.
Me: Noah, I love you so much. Do you love Mommy?
Noah: Well, I didn’t used to, but now I do.
Me: What?! Why didn’t you love me before??
Noah: Well, because you yelled at me and it hurt my feelings…
Me: (crushed under the weight of my sin) Oh Noah…I’m so sorry. You know, Mommy is a sinner. And sometimes Mommy does bad thing just like you do. Sometimes Mommy has a yucky heart, ya know?
Me: (feeling insecure) Noah? Ya know?
Noah: Yeah, and sometimes… I have a yucky heart too!
Noah: And when I have a yucky heart, do you know what I do?
Me: What do you do, Noah- buddy?
Noah: I just do like this… (*sticks out tongue)… and I throw it up.
….
Well, problem solved.

Perfect.
